The Carrefour International Foundation
The senior body is the board of directors, which comprises 10 members, four of whom are guest personalities. The board meets twice a year. A supervisory committee comprising three members monitors the actions of the foundation. The committee meets six times a year and has a two-member directorate.

Carrefour mobilizes to bring help to the Chinese people
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale struck China on Monday 12 May 2008 (at 2.28 pm local time). The epicentre was close to Wenchuan in Sichuan province, in the south west of the country. When the catastrophe was announced on Monday evening, the Carrefour Group - via its International Foundation - paid a grant of 2 million yuan (€200,000) to the Chinese Red Cross as an initial emergency measure. |
