Colombia : A microcredit programme for vulnerable women
A project aimed at 1,500 women who are household heads in the Aguablanca district in Cali
The aim is to create sustainable sales structures and assist in organizing cooperatives to develop productive businesses. The hope is to help establish a socio-economic balance and rebuild the social fabric in the region.
The first step is to introduce the women to the concept of saving and microcredit. The second will focus on developing productive and marketable businesses.
The main partner, PlaNet Finance, works in conjunction with the Alvar Alice Foundation, the Paz y Bien Foundation, ACNUR (United Nations High Commission for Refugees in Colombia and Carrefour Colombia.
The Carrefour Colombia teams are responsible for providing lists of key products and assessing the feasibility of projects. The products are progressively introduced into the Merchandise Division’s Sponsor Plan which covers quality, logistics and packaging. This is to ensure excellent sales conditions.
