Argentina : Fight against professional exclusion with GESOL

The GESOL Network, created in 1989, gathers 75 Non Governmental Organizations present in 15 provinces in Argentina. They aim at fighting against exclusion by improving the professional integration potential of people.

In order to allox isolated people de find a long lasting job, these firms are a bit different frol the others. They combine a commercial logic and a special methodology for the integration of workers. They promote professional training enabling them to develop new specific skills and know-hows and also contribute to creating self-employment. In 2012, thanks to the support of the Carrefour Foundation, GESOL intends to reinforce and develop its network by transforming existing social firms into professional integration organizations which’s business model allow to generate enough revenus to be self-sufficient.

The links to be established between the firms and the Carrefour stores are important, in terms of market for the products producted by the beneficiaries, and in terms of subcontractation of services activities.
