Turkey: Carrefour’s quick response
At the end of January, most of Turkey, and in particular Van, one of the poorest regions in the east of the country, experienced a period of unprecedented cold weather and snowfalls.
The Carrefour International Foundation decided, in collaboration with Luc de Noirmont, Director of Carrefour Turkey, and based on the efforts of his local teams, to provide emergency aid to 50 of the town’s poorest families.
In conjunction with prefectoral teams, the local manager, Jérôme Mairet, distributed foodstuffs (pasta, flour, oil, sugar, rice and milk) and basic necessities (coal etc.) transported from the Adana warehouse
