EKON is a Polish national association which accompanies disabled people to help them feel self-confident, and train them for them to reintegrate the labor market despite of their difference.
Ekon is a historical partner of PION, a national network of associations fighting for the socio-professional integration of disabled people. It specializes on employing disabled people to collect and sort the waste. Beneficiaries of the association receive a professional training as well as a social accompaniement to allow them to learn their rights. The Carrefour Foundation supports its action in 2011, in order to train 150 people and allow them to find a longer-term job in one of the firm belonging to the netwrok. Carrefour is part of it and will host 5 people in its headoffice in Warsaw. Several seminars and training sessions will also be organised by the beneficiaries for Carrefour employees.
