Poland : Providing healthy and balanced nutrition for all

The Foundation is supporting the distribution of meals daily to disadvantaged children in 33 reception centres in Poland.

Caritas Poland is a public interest charity that has been serving the disadvantaged and the destitute since 1989.
In a country where, according to figures published by the international statistics agency, Millward Brown, nearly 70,000 children only eat one meal a day (provided by the school canteen), Caritas provides meals to the thousands of poor children who come to its day centres all over Poland.

Caritas has been a partner since 2007 and is conscious of the role and presence of Carrefour in Poland, so it was natural for the association to ask the Group to help extend its food programme.
Carrefour Foundation decided to provide financial support for several day centres so that each child could receive balanced meals daily. Today, 40 centers present in 30 different cities benefit from the program.

These centers are very close to the hypermarkets of the country, who regularly give the children clothes to complete the food donations from the Foundation.
