The association, founded in 1946, by Armand Marquiset, provides support for people aged 50 and above who are alone, disadvantaged, disabled or living in disadvantaged situations. les petits frères des Pauvres perform a range of activities, focusing in particular on personal assistance for men and women living in isolation, those with psychological disorders, the disabled or sick, living at home, in shared accommodation or hospital institutions. The association works in partnership with medical, social and institutional services. Its activities are founded on respect for, the dignity, desires and needs of the people they help. In addition to material support, the association gives priority to emotional and human relations to combat isolation and fight against exclusion.
