Indonesia : Reconstruction of a school hit by an earthquake

The Carrefour International Foundation provides emergency aid for the reconstruction of a school destroyed by earthquake in Yogyakarta on the Indonesian island of Java.

The reopening of Becari school brings new hope to 200 children. Carrefour Indonesia and the Carrefour International Foundation worked together on the reconstruction of Becari primary school in Yogyakarta. Opened on 5 July 2007 – 9 months after the earthquake of May 2006 – the new school has been totally rebuilt and has a capacity for over 200 students.
