In order to allow the smallholder farmers living in the region of Jaipur to increase their standard of living, IDEI will give them access to income-generating technologies such as particularly efficient micro-irrigation equipment adapted to the land sizes od these smallholder farmers.

The aim of the program is to help 2 250 households by establishing and training supply chain members while initiating a local demand. Support from the Carrefour Foundation will represent 199 867€ over 3 years.

The second part of the program will be to train the user farmers to help them evolve from subsistence farming to commercial agriculture. With time, once the producers will be connected with markets (traders, and even Carrefour) so that they are able to sell their produce  and enjoy better monetary returns and therefore better life. Carrefour employees will also be involved in programme implementation.
