Carrefour Spain’s solidarity foundation
Founded in March 2001, Carrefour Spain’s Solidarity Foundation has the mission of coordinating all the different solidarity initiatives organized by Carrefour in Spain. It seeks to explores new avenues for improving solidarity and to increase its participation in activities of general interest.

Carrefour mobilizes to bring help to the Chinese people
An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 on the Richter scale struck China on Monday 12 May 2008 (at 2.28 pm local time). The epicentre was close to Wenchuan in Sichuan province, in the south west of the country. When the catastrophe was announced on Monday evening, the Carrefour Group - via its International Foundation - paid a grant of 2 million yuan (€200,000) to the Chinese Red Cross as an initial emergency measure. |
