UNICEF’S RACE FOR EDUCATION

3,000 PEOPLE RUN IN UNICEF’S RACE FOR EDUCATION EVENT BACKED BY CARREFOUR

As part of its “Getting Back to School” programme to provide tools for improved access to learning, Carrefour Group Argentina reasserted its social commitment and sponsored the “Race for Education” organised by UNICEF.

With this programme, Carrefour Argentina lends its support to three schools in different Buenos Aires municipalities, each receiving a donation to cover specific needs such as paints, books, writing materials or computers.

In addition, Carrefour Group employees from different parts of the country took part in the “Race for Education” event organised by UNICEF with Carrefour and Tex as chief sponsors.

The first “Race for Education” took place on Sunday, March 16, at the Obelisk in Buenos Aires. A total of 3,000 people ran the 7km and 3km circuits, among them mothers, fathers, boys, girls, professional runners, local residents and celebrities.

The “Race for Education” gathered together people who began and finished the run with one very special goal: to raise awareness of the importance for all young people to finish school.
