Carrefour Indonesia conducts training on Hygiene for micro entrepreneurs
Through collaboration with Bina Arta, Carrefour Indonesia once again conducted a series of training sessions for micro entrepreneurs to demonstrate its commitment in developing micro-scale enterprises. The topic that was introduced on May 31st, 2008 was Hygiene.
Other tailor-made topics will be offered, for instance, display, inventory management, family financial management, or motivational-related subjects to accommodate the needs of micro entrepreneurs in their effort to progress. Besides, all the micro entrepreneurs are women, because in low income households, they play an important role in sustaining their family.
In 2007, Carrefour International Foundation channelled Rp1.35 billions through Bina Arta to 800 micro entrepreneurs. This year, the Foundation increased the amount to Rp1.85 billions intended for 1,500 micro entrepreneurs.
The early intention was to create an integrated program that goes beyond providing financial assistance. Hence, relevant, useful and applicable training materials are developed which are delivered by Carrefour Indonesia competent employees. As a result, both capacity building for recipients as well as employee engagement aspects are achieved.
