Carrefour Colombia is organizing an educational assistance programme. As part of the programme, every Carrefour store sponsors a local school in its efforts to participate in the education of the children of the local community.

Schools are selected according to their location and their material requirements. Most schools are located in low-income neighbourhoods. These schools have serious infrastructural shortcomings, which Carrefour’s programme seeks to overcome.

Carrefour is investing in the improvement of school facilities and also offers monthly supervision by employee sponsors. These sponsors take charge of fun activities for the children, and also provide basic school materials such as pencils and jotters
